The central investment banking activities were concentrated in one location
through the group-wide streamlining of the credit investment business into
HSH Nordbank Securities S.A. However, the turbulence in the financial markets
and the economic downturn severely impacted the business development
of the HSH Nordbank Group, whereupon the Management Board of HSH Nordbank
AG initiated a new strategic direction. It was decided in this connection
to reduce the credit investment portfolio to zero over the next years and to
focus on providing services throughout the capital and financial markets.
